I've driven/instructed an SCCA HPDE event there with passing. No issues with that as far as I know. Contract passing in the longer straightaway with the car ahead letting off a bit for the faster car (most of the time).

In the advanced group people got in the way still. A lot of driver skill/car capability disparity even in that group, no way are you going to ever get a bunch of people/cars who are going exactly the same rate around the circuit.

Hoping we can get more instructors and classroom sessions for Proving Grounds this year.

This event is for all skill levels, the last thing needed is anything that could risk in contact. The other aspect is we want people to feel comfortable on track so they can learn, car passing contradicts that. There is no live timing, you can pull off in the pits to give a gap. I am not sure I understand what you are saying, how can you have "no issues", but they say the advanced group got "in the way". I am sure I am misreading. I hope you understand the spirit of these events.

I cannot wait for the RS events at DCTC, they were my fav. Hope to do some more at BIR with the DD I'd like to experience that a bit.

Of course Drag racing like a fucking boss too, going to try some 1/8 mile this year for sure.

Isn't that why you have separate run groups? People comfortable with passing in advanced?

Sorry that I was a bit vague - what I meant by 'issues' was cars getting pushed off track, accidents, or car contact due to dangerous passing. I don't really consider cars being held up that big of an 'issue'.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate people being willing to put on these events and I'll still plan on coming even without passing. You have every right and incentive to make this a safe, fun event for everyone. I was just curious.

Ron's DCTC events were great fun!

BIR is a great time!

I hope I have either my Corvette or "other" LS powered vehicle to drive!

Excited to see all your big dumb faces too

Any interest incoming to Mid America Motorplex or Iowa Speedway for some HPDE? I know it's a bit of a drive for you guys, but Iowa Speedway is not much farther than CFR.

Spaz used to come to some Marshalltown events for autox as well, a go kart track that is pretty fun and low speed but lots of corners. I will probably be out there a few times this year, will post up dates soon.

If that's an invite to hang and race, I'm down.
But my work schedule blows for doing stuff on the weekend. Post the schedule up and I'll try to make at least one.

I'm definitely down for TTS at Proving Grounds this year. Just have to get some practice runs and a full car shakedown before then.
