We installed Silverstars in customer's cars at the shop if they requested them. They aren't white, they don't have a tint of blue. They are just a lighter shade of yellow than standard bulbs. And they seem to burn out faster since they burn a little hotter.
Yup, it says right on the box that they are not designed to last as long as 'normal' bulbs as they burn brighter and hotter. The light output is a noticeable difference.
Hmm might as well just get an HID kit. I think my old kit on the m3 was around that price haha.
Hah, the install looks like 1000x more work than I'm interested in for this car!
+1 , That has been my experience as well.
I ran Silverstars in my 1G and Evo IX for years with no issues, they were the best halogen bulb I could find. I was happy with them.
This is why I was willing to give them a chance. Yours seemed to last forever! I certainly didn't want to pay the extra-premium price at o'reily's but I did anyways just to avoid being caught with a light out & traffic stop.
