No major problems with the motor. Not changing a lot so hopefully it's possible.
Technically I was successful with my goals...well the first part. The whole not changing a lot..yea that didn't work.
I'll play.
1. Make car driver suck less Completed. Attended an autocross driving school, instructed at all Evo days @ DCTC and got some laps in myself, attended five autocross events and one Test-N-Tune (all my schedule allowed), won STU twice (including one bump class made up of STU, STR, and STX), very narrowly missed a third class win, cracked the top 30 at one event, top 25 at another (much tougher than you might think), on fairly worn, sub-optimal Star Specs.
2. Make car slower (ASP to STU) Completed with some additional mods on top of it. Stock boost tune, HFC instead of test pipe, removed LICP, 245 Star Specs on 17x9 Volk CE28's, AST 5200's, and a bunch of lightweight mods.
My 2014 plans are fairly well set, but the details are still baking.

Get the car done mechanically, making 600+hp. And get the car cleaned up body wise with a lip kit, and new paint. My goal is more for like June 1 2013 though.
Nope, nope, nope. June 1 2014 is my new goal, lol.

Pull the motor in the Spyder. Take it apart and have the block decked so it stops pushing coolant. Get a new turbo.
Work on the evo more.
Built a 2.4 for the spyder and did a ton of other stuff to it.
Did work a bit on the evo but did sell off a lot of parts from it.

I like this game.
9.50 out of the Evo. Never raced it at the track. It drug a whole bunch of people on the street though. Made the 1320 TX2k and Texas Streets videos too
No major mechanical issues. Yeah, about that. This went so well I parted out the car
For the Truck, take it to the Baja 1000/500 course if another group goes this summer. No Baja trip, but, made a couple of other Raptor runs

Someone put this on another forum, and I'm bored as hell.
Car goals for me, make 3 track events with I guess 1 being PG, really 3 + PG.
stock appearing turbo goal: 10.99
If not upgrade and trap 135+mph with a bigger turbo
Do not explode stock motor.
None so far and doesn't look like any.
Said Fuck stock appearing.
Upgraded turbo and everything went back to stock, so not sure there.
And I sold a crappy stock motor for what seems like an ok one, well at least at idle.
Not sure what to do with this thing, way too busy with everything else and well they keep releasing badass stock framed turbos, so not sure if I should keep on this T4 train.

Drop 60 lbs, add 40 hp, add driver mod. I want to do two MAM events and at least one Proving Grounds next summer, as well as a few autocross events. More motivated and excited than I ever have been to race.
Really want to beat my 2011 vette lap time at BIR (114.7s)
Drop 60 lbs: Complete, plus more weight to be dropped this winter
Add 40 hp: Nope, just a safer tune that yielded maybe 20hp
Driver mod: I hope so
Two MAM events: Nope, but I did BIR and Iowa Speedway
Autocross events: Complete
Beat vette time @ BIR: Technically yes, but the course is wider now. The vette kills this car on turns 1 and 2 because of top speed ability.

Actual follow up:
Finish the build. COMPLETE. Final tune was done 3 days before PG2.
PG1 SEMI-COMPLETE. I showed up with a blown head gasket.
PG2 SEMI-COMPLETE. Oops.
More autox FAILED. I autox'd less than any previous year.

10.99 or quicker
Run in the money at Proving Grounds (stock apearing class)
Attend more local events
keep the car off jackstands
I haven't run a 10 yet But I still want to get the car out in the cold air.
I screwed up and got DQed PG1 and PG2 was rained out. The car would have been very competitive in stock appearing if the guy behind the wheel hadn't blown it.
I hung out with my car friends more then other years and attended a few car shows with my 63 Mercury meteor
The car was down for 1 week with the hose clamp in the head issue and was repaired for less then $50 otherwise the car was trouble free all summer

Come out to cedar falls tomorrow for the midway shootout. Weather looks perfect and the house of hook should help get that 10!
