I would love to see Tom's reaction if his house was under attack by burglars. Going by his political preachings he'd sit peacefully idle while they ransacked his house and did God knows what to his family, then later post online about it defending them and their actions. Somehow I don't quite believe that's how it would play out though...reality is a bitch, but he can keep on dreaming for now.

You guys are being too hard on Tom, he's just trying to lead by example, just like when he sent in more money than what owed on his federal tax return to show his support for higher taxes, right Tom?

...and donated all his excess income to the needy rather than buying a Denali, right?

Ok guys. Obviously you missed the fucking point of my post. But its interesting to see your responses, but mostly disturbing. You want a fight, well here goes.
My response was that i would rather have a president that gains ALL of the facts that are going on, before going to war. At the time it was happening, we knew essentially NOTHING about the situation. The event was emerging, we did not know if it was an accident, whether they were even dead or not, we werent sure if it was a protest, or a terrorist attack. Think of it as if you were to sit there and watch only fox news coverage of any event. Would you rather act on that event based on the information you recieved from fox, or gain the rest of the facts from other sources and draw a conclusion from all of the facts of the event.
Now, to my comment. "Because bombing another country is always the first resort". Think about this, Starting a war with a country that is highly unstable (and just overthrew its government), in a very unstable area (where multiple wars are going on). How many soldiers and innocent civilians would die if war broke out? Or even a retaliation from us bombing their country? How many soldiers and citizens died after Bush said we were going after OBL but went to Iraq?
The best question of all "What if the intel was wrong on it being a terrorist attack?" this is where my statement becomes painfully clear. What if it was simply an accident? I know you will say "Well it wasnt" But what if. What if it was a bunch of protestors expressing their disgust of the video when things got out of control and we dropped a bomb on a bunch of citizens? How would we look in the eyes of the world? We need a president that can keep a cool head in the presence of great stress like Obama has not a quick trigger finger. Gather all of the information needed and determine the best course of action that will get the best result.

Tom,
They were watching it in real time. They knew what was happening because they received urgent messages from the American Ambassador, his aids and our military that was stationed just blocks away. Our government was also warned ahead of time by the Embassy that something was up and requested more security forces, but were denied.
Next, how can we start a war that's already started? The terrorist attacked us, although you want to forget that because its convenient to do so.
How many innocent protestors do you know carrying automatic weapons and mortar cannons?
Bottom line, our Embassy and our Ambassador were under attack and Obie Inc. did nothing to stop it or keep it from happening in the first place. This is simply one of those situations where you go in with what ever it takes to secure our people and carry them to safety. YOU GO IN, GET THE JOB DONE AND TAKE NAMES LATER!!

This, I find it all offensive. Delete it!
Im here for the gang bang. :pc:
Back on topic. We should have done something, that is for sure. I dont understand why Obama sat back and did nothing.
That response is pretty uninformed Tom. Obviously you haven't looked in to this very much. I hadn't until Vicious posted it up (yes I looked at a lot more than just his links) and I am pretty shocked by how much information we did have. Obama was watching live footage directly from the ground and had communication with the troops available if he wanted it. Air support was 20 minutes away, troops were 2 hours out. He didn't even get the troops in the air in case things got any worse, that should have been a minimum that happened.

Jet is right about what information is available. Don't forget about the fact that our multiple forces who were ready and willing were given not 1, not 2, BUT 3 CONFIRMED ORDERS to stand down and not assit!! Those two seals who died knew without a shadow of a doubt that just sitting there and doing nothing was wrong. They put their careers and lives on the line to do what they are trained to, save American lives when needed, no questions asked. Those seals saved close to 30 American lives.
The real question is WHY was this ALLOWED to happen?

He did something, he blamed a poorly made video. (Before he had "ALL the facts" Tom)
Din't you guys know? If you fail at leadership blame it on TV and Movies. It works for plenty of shitty parents all the time,
