Yeah... John Wood. He has a nice setup.
I want it to stay a 5spd too. I think I've talked him into rebuilding the manual gear box while piecing together an auto setup.
He NLTS into 4th but he turned off the clutch cut in link so the car was bouncing off the rev limiter from 8500-91xx and when he let the clutch out, there was just too much for the gear to hold. He is use to keeping his foot on the clutch pedal and just that little amount of pressure causes the clutch switch to activate NLTS in link, so it is constantly on and creating a 6k rev limit, thats the main reason he turned it off.
I want to try to fab something up that will allow the sensor to have more travel so he can be more comfortable with the clutch cut on, that realistically should help keep 4th gear together for longer than 3 passes.

This car is bad ass!!
Great numbers Shane, I'm jealous you can get E98 out of a pump down there! Tha power band is huge, what is the exhaust housing on it? We're you out of gear at 152mph? Cause it sounded like limiter trough the traps?
Are you planning on sticking with the 5 speed?

The E98 is in a 250 Gallon tank that you have to pump it out of but it is available every day which is nice...
T3 - .82 exhaust housing.
Not out of gear, if you look at the vid, you can see him cross the traps and keep on it a ways until the rev limiter. Close to being out of gear but that shouldnt be an issue anymore.
I am rebuilding the Trans this weekend as long as we have the parts in by then. Going with an OEM 4th that is suppose to be stronger than the Evo III 4th gear and 6mph taller which will help with not hitting the limiter through the traps.
Just need some seat time and he'll have a 9 in it no problem!

Oh it will... Ordered all the trans parts from Tim Zimmer earlier this week and they should be here by this weekend. Put it together and figure out the shims and order them next Monday hopefully, take a day or 2 to get them and it should be back together by this time next week!

Any thoughts about getting 4th shot peened and cryo treated?

That would be sweet if I knew a place around here that could actually do it without being down for a long period of time...
I would actually like the intermediate shaft shot peened and cryo'd over anything if I could get it. Thats what actually lost all the teeth. 4th gear actually just chipped a few teeth but I can imagine that just happened because the intermediate shaft was shred into a million pieces.

M&H Racemasters...
Unless he gets sick of the car and decides to part it out, the car should be getting an auto over the winter!
