So after asking people where/how they mounted their MSD DIS2 I decided to come up with my own solution. I wanted something that was sturdy, something that was no held together with duct tape and zip ties. This is only a rough version of the final product. I made it out of a piece of 1/8" thick steel plate. I would like to use aluminum but it is expensive for such a thick piece. the reason for the thickness is to have to the two main mounting bolts countersunk. The MSD unit is held onto the plate by four allen head bolts.

Here is a picture of how the unit looks bolted onto the car with the MSD in place

Notice the lines drawn on the plate, the center section is going to be cut out to save weight. The outer lines show where can material can be removed to make the mounting plate a bit more atheistically pleasing.

Here you can see the mounting bolts are countersunk into the place.

The plate mounts to the car via a set of stainless bosses. The system works like this. There are two broached studs, each boss is threaded. The boss threads onto the studs and can be adjusted to fit the contour of the fire wall, adjusting in or out to make the plate level. The two main mounting bolts thread into the boss. Here is a picture of the bosses.
