Junaid was making it sound like you guys were going to make RA today.
Yeah, he's the only one who thinks so at this point. Just to much to do, and buy at this point.

well, not so bad as you'll get another chance at RA.

Car is starting to come along. What tires would everyone suggest? I think for this season, I'd lean more toward longevity over max traction(relatively speaking of course).

pretty much everyone who is competitive uses dunlop direzza z1 star specs. Some people use falken azenis, but we blew out the treads one on in 45 mins, so we won't buy them again.

We run the Star Specs for tires as well. They're great. They stay consistent no matter how hot or cold they are, they don't get greasy, and they wear surprisingly well for the performance they give.
We tested our car today at Raceway, nothing fell off so I'd say it went well.

How do you get by AIV with that setup? How do you get to test there?

Starting with the Chevette as a chassis helps us out a lot. According to the rules, if you use a shitbox chassis, it doesn't get counted for the swap. We got zero penalty laps at the Chumpionship with the current drivetrain.
Our team owner knows the owners of Raceway, so we get to test their for free as long as they're there.

The engine, turbo, intercooler, transmission, ecu, wiring harness, motor mounts, etc aren't worth over $500?

Not if you find the correct AIV documents for beat to hell Eclipses.
I know you're questioning this all honestly and I don't mind but were you at the Chumpionship? We weren't the fastest car there, by far. We finished 19th because we didn't break down much. We got destroyed on the road course segments because our brakes sucked. The car sounds badass fast on paper because we know what these motors can do for very little money but our car isn't that. It actually has a smaller than stock turbo because I was worried about tearing up the rearend.
I think our car follows both the spirit and letter of the rules. We are not fielding a car with an unfair performance advantage.

hey, i think its a creative swap and I like it when people try something different. You worked really hard on that thing. It's sure as hell better than just getting an E36, doing nothing, and stomping on people. Your car sounds crazy and badass.
I think though, you're going to be subject to the same insane scrutiny/trash talk that we think we'll get if we ever make the podium. Since we have a different motor, turbo added and everything. Oh well, hopefully we survive with our necks if that ever happens.
