Thanks for the heads up Curt! I was getting pretty interested in it until that. Would hanging out at Uni be a car event? :D

One thing to note about Grundy, is they only insure vehicles that are for non work, school etc. You can only drive it to club events, or other car activities. Even if you drove it to do arrends they could deny a claim. You have to sign something that says you won't drive it to work/school. So they could easily deny any claim.

Your right, I personally do not drive car very often, only to events, never to work. I got the policy in case car stolen. 5 times $$$ back if car stolen then any other insurance co. All in writing. If you get hit they will insure because every hot rod enthusiast drives their car. You have to drive under 3000 miles each year and must keep garaged. Last year I drove only 2000 miles. I hated driving my car before knowing I was not insured correctly. Nothing in writing that says they will deny driving for pleasure as long as you do not go over 3000 miles, but this policy is not meant for someone who drives their hot rod allot or to school and work. ;)

i'm not going to spend 20k on a car and sit there and watch it, screw it, its like buying a raincoat and not going outside because you will get it wet... hmm...

I see your point, but when you own 3 cars and a fulltime job you don't have time. My eclipse is considered my hot rod and only drive in summer. I don't even know where the time goes. Sometimes I wonder why I spent 3 times more time building vs. driving the car up to this point. Mainly because I like working on car more then driving and learning. I drive it on weekend! My neighbor owns 4 corvettes and I never see him drive them, until a week ago he drove by when I was grabbing the mail in the morning. He shaved his head and roared at 175mph down 35E highway at 6:30am on a sunday morning. So I guess it is just an escape for him. My eclipse is just an escape for me or a precious commodity. Pretty dumn ha. :dsmrule:

Good points from everyone.

I for one will stick with driving my car as much as I can once I can afford insurance and gas again. :( Cars are meant to be driven, and darn it, that's what I intend on doing.
