I was just trying to get an idea on what rpm the SCM61 spools in the 6176sp variant, journal bearing in the 63 ar. I am thinking about running 2 of them on my stealth. Just trying to figure out a general area of spooling.
Edit: if a mod could move this to the correct sub forum that would be great.

6000-6400 rpm for 20some psi. That would be a lag monster, also your tranny is the same as a fwd dsm, which would not handle such crazy hp.

Wow, I'm not super familiar with 3/S's, but scm61's seem like monsters for that car. biggest I have seen personally is 50 trims. (Again, not that familiar with them)
Should rip pretty good though!

Damn that is some serious lag time. I will be swapping to the getrag 5 speed and converting it for fwd so the trans will be no problem. How are they in the 48 ar version?

I see you have a project thread, you should update that thing!

I will make another thread once I collect all my parts and start working on it. I am pretty much changing the entire setup that I had in that build thread anyways.

I ran twin SCM50's Dual ball bearing in the .63 a/r, if memory serves correct I was at full tilt around 5800, peak power from 6500-8500rpm.
Reducing the A/R doesn't help spool-up as much as you think it would. It does a good job of choking off the top end, its the size and pitch of the wheels that really kills spool, plus the fact that you have 1.5 liters feed each turbo. Look at what they typically spool at on a 2.0 and add to that.
What are the goals for the car? Being FWD, a little lag may help you if its a drag car. I know my car came on like a FREIGHT TRAIN when it hit, but then again I was running "all" boost, 33.5psi with the wastegates unplugged.

Thats exactly why I am looking to get something maybe just a little bigger than need be. This will be a street legal purpose built drag car. Completely stripped of everything other than lights pretty much, with a cage so it should be pretty light. Goal is to take down the FWD 3/s record of 10.19. Power goal would like the ability to make 1000whp but would only need ~700-800 most likely.
