the Toyota motor they come with is a piece of shit. :)

I thought kiggly loved that motor? I remember him posting about a turbo 2zz he built that made good power.

They just leave something to be desired to me. Limited modding/tuning options, weird power band, lots of failures do to clogged cats(not really the engines fault), can't hold too much power. I dunno, reminds me of an old GSR motor with poorly mismatched cams/headwork/parts on it. The K-series swap is common on those cars, so you have all the Honda parts for it available and Honda tuning systems, and it is one of the best 4 cylinder motor ever made.

Not that you couldn't just leave the thing stock and have all kinds of fun.

Yea... Lotus' arent fast at all, so comparing them to an evo is not the same...

On a drag strip? I couldn't care less.

They weigh 2100 lbs so you don't need an Evo motor in them.

Why not just get a 5 thousand dollar miata and throw some R compounds on it. Bam done.. haha

Yea thats true, I couldnt either for a street car, a pure track car its possible though since no one could see me with a helmet on. haha

They are fast. A Spec Miata would be a fun car. Your price guess is 3-4x off but still half the price of a Lotus.
