Thanks!
Would you recommend throwing on some springs on the stuck struts?
I was thinking of getting the swift spec R springs but those seem a little much for what I want to do with this thing. Looking around the Eibachs look a little cheaper than the Swifts. Would the Eibachs be good enough for a dailly driver that might hit a road course or the drag strip once or twice?

Totally. All of the above are a progressive-wound spring which means in general they'll be as nice or nicer ride than stock springs for basic DD duty. The eibachs are indeed cheaper and I'd say they're perfect for what you described if you're just looking for a basic 'even' drop and not a huge change in the dynamics of the car. The swifts do a raked drop, which will put a tish more pressure on the front of the car but for real-world purposes you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference, esp if you're main focus is to just have some light-hearted fun in the car.
I had the eibachs on my evo8 and I have eibachs on my X, they're a very nice spring. You and I seem to have a similar mentality towards the use of our evos, so that's why I think they'd be a good fit for ya. Swifts are a teeeensy bit stiffer, and the spec-r's are actually remarkably forgiving for as stiff as they are rated (remember, they're progressive). All of the above are dandy on stock struts. MattD has the spec-r's on his car if you wanna go for a test-ride. Rosey has the eibachs on his car. A few other locals have the regular swifts but I do not recall who at the moment, we installed probably 10 sets of springs in the last few years in my garage and they're kinda a blur as to who has what at this point :)

Installed a GrimmSpeed phenolic intake manifold spacer this week. Very nice piece and a bunch of cool guys over there! Every little bit helps, as long as I don't pay through the nose for it. Also hoping to get my lowering seat brackets today in the mail and install those this weekend. One of the things I'm really looking forward to!
Also a random picture showing off my knock off tails. As nobody likes reading a project thread without pictures... I think.

Thanks dude!
Ummm I think I'll probalby make a pass or two but the thing isn't anything crazy so I'd get rocked. I'm still kind of curious how slow this thing really is so it'll be fun to get it out there once.
I'd really like to take it on a road course though, I think that'd be where this thing starts to get really fun.

Knock-off tails FTW!
I had a blast running low 14s last year pre-tune. Car was way too rich above 5k and made no power. Doesn't matter how slow you are, you'll have fun. You should join us in dominating the autox.

14s?
I think auto-x is where the evo shines, it might want a bit more power for road racing, but i've never done it so thats just a speculation.
Either way I want a evo.

I guess the goal is to run 11's, make 400awhp at DB at some point, and be reliable. It made 36x at RS where it was tuned last so I'm hoping to be kind of close to 400 after the cams and a Shane tune, maybe like 370-380 realistically.
If I could go back I'd probably keep my 2g and just pick up a nice reliable daily. It's really sucky to do anything to your daily on a weeknight and know you have no other way to get to work the next morning if it doesn't go as planned. Also trying to push the limits on something just doesn't seem smart when its your only car. haha
Keep your 1g and make it a beast if you still have it and then just get something somewhat nice as a daily! It's less stressful.

That's my plan, but after all these years I've learned that a 1G is a drag car nothing else, I'll throw a rear sway bar because it made the car a million times better but only brought it up to a level where most stock cars are.
I still want to get an evo to do auto-x, ice racing, and anything for turning.
It sounds like you have realistic, achieveable goals.
Are you sticking to pump gas?
