Just to be "that guy"... I never seen "The Day the Earth Stood Still" but in "The Day After Tomorrow" the consequences of the ice caps melting is actually pretty on par with that movie. While it HAS been blown up a bit, the next ice age (which is coming btw, no matter what anyone tells you) will be a result of the ice caps melting and desalination of the oceans. It's science, it has happened numerous times in the past, the last one happening a mere 10,000 years ago, and the last minor one during the "dark ages". Facts people, facts. (of course this is all scientific fact, to put it in bible terms there never was a 10,000 years ago so everything I just said is null and void and we are 10 years past the apocalypse anyways. Well maybe 7... we cant get jesus' birthday right either) [also this is the pretty abbreviated cause of the ice age, I really do not want to get into the technical facts of the ice age, just... buy some parka's and lets annex mexico]

Also, the Russians nuking us was a very real threat at the time, so I dont know how these "left wing idiots" are really doing anything other that glamming up a very REAL scenario for the sake of turning a dollar, which in the end is what all you capitalists are all about right? Making a buck?
