My evo was very close to breaking into the 11's with a stock turbo... just sayin'

Point is, with a bigger turbo low to mid 11's aren't hard at all with an Evo and I had never been drag racing before.

I could only get 11.5 @ 126 in the 1/4... But I cant drive the best either.. Every pass I made I messed up on shifting or launching. The fp black was hard for me to drive. Give me a stock turbo and I'll drive the shit out of it!

Yea but your car was running funky with the black I thought? With more practice you could've gotten lower 11's.

My point is, people need to learn to drive their shit before they upgrade try to keep with one another.

Trev, just because shane says its easier to drive a stock turbo doesn't mean you will rock the shit out of it.

If my old car is still together I want to pilot that thing down the 1/4.

FYI, don't get butt hurt by my statements I'm not targetting ANYONE, i just think people should drive the shit out of their setups before they go bigger chasing each other down so they can roll race.

I only ran a 11.7 with my 16G there were guys with similar setups rocking 11.5s and 11.3s. MY holset @20psi only ran a 12.0@116 all day in the 90F TX heat.

But in all reality...95% of the racing we do is roll racing with buddies for T&C or highway pulls with some gay mustang like the one mentioned :)

I mean I fully plan to go to the track 3-4 times this year but that is a small percentage of driving.

^I hear you, and is why I'm not getting butt hurt when it comes to posting up about drag times, I've chosen to stick with setups on my car that I believe are for a street car, so response is important and low end power, which happens to be easier to pilot down the quarter.

I just think spending all this money for power so you can drive around someone else is quite sad when you can't drive it, now when you rocking big turbos and running the times thats some sick fucking shit, but not for me.

Either way to the OP, you probably want to choose a healthy sized upgrade if you want to roll that mustang guy, i hate when people refer to imports as ricey crap.

Im just saying a stock turbo is a lot easier for me to drive. I did the 1/4 with my stock turbo and did great with 330 whp. But yes I agree you should learn how to drive your car well before anything else.
