Alright well I got my self a new comuter car if I can figure out what's wrong with it. I have a 92 Plymouth laser 4g37 na. It won't start. It will crank an crank but nothing. An checked to spark an there is spark. Can smell the fuel from cranking it over. From what I kno the person who owned it was jus driving it then it jus died while driving. Then wouldn't start ever since an it was all of a sudden I guess. I lve owned many Dsms an i love em an I don't want to give up on this one so any sugggestion an ideas are appriciated
Thanks

Do you have compression? Have you changed plugs? How long has this car been sitting? How old could the gas be? If it just died while driving, are you sure timing didn't skip a tooth or something? Have you checked the timing belt?

The car has compression ai don't think that it has been Sittin for long not long enough that the car won't even sputer or nothing on the gas thats in it an I mean I have compression an spark an fuel so WTF? I should have a runnin motor. Im sure that even if it jumped a tooth with only the SOHC it should still sputer. It spins like there is no gas or spark

Have you checked for error codes? I worry you have bent valves and a spelling problem.

injectors pulsating ? enough fuel pressure spark off time plug wires mixed up its 1432 firing order

You need spark, compression, and proper air/fuel. And you need it all to happen at the correct time (timing). If you know you have compression, then check that off the list.

Go down the list, and start eliminating possibilities.

how do i check the timing on a 4g37. this is the first one of these i have owned i have owned plenty of 4g63's. any links or what ever would help alot. an as for bent valves i have read they are non interference motors. so im not worried about bent valves. but any info on how to time this car to rule that out would be good an then im goin to check the fuel pump an injectors

Is the cam shaft tdc the same as a 4g63. The dowl pin up?

Bent valves will usually result in extremely low compression. Do a compression test.
