Isn't the Obama administration supposed to be in charge of sending out the checks from BP's $20B fund?

C'mon you guys. Its simple really. They haven't paid out any claims because they are too busy filming commercials about the claim processing centers and their "dedication" to the parties involved. ;)

Have any of the mainstream media sources made mention of the other (larger) leaks? There happens to be a large fissure 5-7 miles from the wellhead pipe that we keep seeing on the TV via it's own webcam. The farthest leak is 20 miles from the wellhead. The large fissure is the real problem, only a couple people have any real idea what to do about it, and most of them don't have the power or materials needed. It seems to me that stopping a leaky pipe that's seven inches wide shouldn't be a real problem. On the low end, the estimates put the fissure at 125,000 barrels a day!

I have also heard about the possibility for a large methane bubble.

Is that fissure from the ground being porous or what?
