Disclaimer: This post is directed entirely at when people get pulled over for made up reasons or other bullshit.

With the ticket thing, if you think you would respond equally to all the drivers on the road regardless of what they drive, drive down the highway and watch for a civic with a big wing, evaluate what goes through your head and tell me you don't think any differently of anyone else on the road.

But police officers are supposed to be above that. They are meant to protect and serve, not to single out honda boys or black poeple. They are supposed to protect the public from dangerous people with disregard for the law.

Here's an example, say your mom was driving a riced out accord when she crashed. What would everyone say if he stopped and said "fuck it, shes probably just a street racer, and a menace to society"

That is really taking things out of context. The idea is that they would look for indicators that could reveal a more illegal action happening. You save everyone equally, period, no ones life is more valuable than anyone elses regardless of if they are an inmate or a priest. The only time someone loses that equal status is when they decide to start shooting or harming others, then it is there decision.

would you think there could be more to the story if you saw that same car in an area where others have been racing, guns have been fired, people hit with cars and a lot of general public disregard has occured. Wouldn't you be more apt to want to make a point to them or at least check further into the situation?

Again, the police should be above the prejudice. If the person was doing something wrong when the cop was following them, then pull them over and shake things down a little, thats their job.

But if they follow the logic that "DSM's are at midway, racing is a midway, therefore all DSM's race at midway" we are gonna be in a lot of trouble. They are getting in trouble for supposedly racially profiling, but they don't get in trouble for profiling based on what you drive, it seems like they should be allowed to profile for everything, or nothing at all. If a cop pulled over a black guy b/c he knows that some black people commit crimes, and that was his reason for pulling him over, he would be pretty fucked if the guy who got pulled over decided to call a lawyer or the NAACP.

Cops = Good
Crooked Cops who break rules = worse than criminals in my eyes

I have yet to have a problem with my DSM getting pulled over, I don't think it is the car make rather than the mods that are done to attract attention.

I'm not gonna pretend to have had experiences with them in big city. Live in the small towns and try to have a fast or just nice car that you like to play around in. You might as well not have a car at all. Followed for blocks and anytime you stop to talk they are there 2 mins later tellin you to move out.

Now I live in South Dakota w/ iowa license plates and even then they don't bother me. Our cops are different, they KNOW they have better stuff to be doing, so when I decide to romp on it from stop light and the cop two cars back passes me and goes to pull over a drunk driver, amazing. I think the cops here are so much better.

That's because your car looks completely stock and your an old guy (j/k). If you were to put on Aftermarket Rims alone I'd bet you'd start to get some notice from police.

I think John L did his car the best. Went for the complete stock look.

With all the talk about police stopping to help, and what not. I can honestly say as I think Most of you can honestly say,

At somepoint you've all probably witnessed a Police officer driving right passed someone in need of help.

I know I seen it several times each year. Where there'll be someone on the side of the road or something. And in no way could the Cop miss it unless he had his eyes closed but kept on driving.

I have all the respect and the world for the Cops that actually do there job right. It's just the ones that do are becoming very few between.

Like the newport Police that are a great example of proper Police Officers.

When we'd play frizbee and football down at Red Rock - Subway they usually would either completly leave us alone or they'd drive over and give us compliments on how well we conducted ourselves. Saying that if you could get the rest of the people to act like you guys we'd never come down here and you guys could do what ever you wanted.

He even made reference to Racing at Red Rock saying that they'd be down there with there cars racing if they weren't working, etc.

That's the mentality that all cops should go by. - You do your job, you protect and Serve the people, treat people fairly. And Respect each other.

They realize there are better things to do then bust up a bunch of people who are acting responsibly. (And that's the key to the whole thing. "Acting responsibly")

The reason why Red Rock, Uni, Kasota, all got ruined are because people were acting irresponsibly (ie: Like dumbshits) and making neusense's of themselves.

When people just went to Uni and parked and stopped blarring there stereo's, doing burn Outs, starting fights, Uni was the bomb. But now a days it's just out of hand. And that's why I don't even bother going East of Mobil.

The enitre structure of the police system is sort of messed up. Think about it. I'm not saying that there aren't good police that are great people and do thier jobs everyday to protect the citzens. But there are also the police who become police officers just because they get off on a power trip. You all know what I mean, the kid in high school, who goes to tech school to be a cop becuase he think's it'd be cool to be able to the beat the shit out of someone.

I was pulled over in hennapin county (I'm not sure if that's the spelling, I live up here in fargo). He first told me that I was pulled over becuase I had a radar detector sucktion cupped to my windshield and that it was illegal. That's fine, I can live with that, I was in the wrong and I admit it, if thats the law. But then he started getting off the hook. At the time, I was driving my rice mobile, a body kit, turbo wing, just a muffler welded on etc.. etc.. Anyway the muffler had the silencer in, wasn't loud at all. He kept telling me that I had no cat. I was like its just a muffler welded on! Anyway he wouldn't believe me, until I politely asked for his permission to show him where it was. I guess that was good enough for him, I didnt have to get out. He then went back to his car, and this is where it starts to get ugly.

I'm an adopted korean kid, so my name doesn't sound korean, James Ross. My parents are white, and my car was registered to my mom (camille ross). The police officer comes back, and firsts asks me "Did you steal this car?". WTF question is that? He then went on to tell me that the car was registered to a lady named Camille Ross (my mom), and refused to believe me that she was my mom (he even had my license!). So I sat there, on the side of the road for another 30 min while he called my house to verify. Now if thats not a cop being racist, I dont know what is.

A few weeks ago, up here in Fargo, I was pulled while following a few cars (Evo, Eclipse's), the guy walks up to the window and says "You're going to get a ticket," was a complete ass about everything. My offense was that I didn't fully stop a stop sign, which, I flat out admitted to him right then and there, and I was willing to accept the consequences, becuase I was in the wrong, but he some how was expecting me to be a cocky teenager and talk shit back. He continued on his speech, telling me that he coudl have pulled over of the five cars I was following, but chose me becuase "you were the easiest." I dont know why he told me this shit but it was out of line.

So basically what I am saying here, is that the selection process for police is flawed in itself, there are going to be some great police officers, very educated, come from good backgrounds; but there are also going to be those who are racist, ignorant and just want to whoop some ass...

I dont hate police, If i do something wrong, I deserve to get pulled over and ticketed, thats the law. But sometimes, It is just apower trip.
