This sounds like a hell of a time! I'm super interested. I won't be able to do it this year, but I'll definitely come and be part of the support crew.

I'm not a big 1/4 mile guy anymore. I'm just scared of breaking something off the launch.

I've always wanted to get in to AutoX. And since it seems a lot of other people on here are interested I'll definitely sign on for 2011 season!

So Lomker, Rosey, and I are going to attend the Novice School in April:

Mail-in registration now, or register online in 2 weeks. Apparently it fills up in like 48 hours, so get on it if you plan on doing this.

Anyone else in? Anna (my wife) and Racheal (Rosey's GF) might be attending as well.

Awesome, guys! I go to help out with the schools but not much else. I'm not an instructor so I can't ride with or drive that day.

Another shameless plug...

The money spent on the two-day novice school is easily the best money you will ever spend toward becoming a better driver. Saturday is spent in a classroom going over what autocross is all about, general driving techniques and getting your car teched. Sunday is spent driving all day. You will have an instructor with you at all times. Your final run of the day is done solo is you so choose. The instructors in our local club are the best that money can't buy, meaning they are free. The instructors do not get paid anything.

Regardless of your interest in autocross I highly suggest this if you are interested in being able to toss your car aound and learn more about your car's limits and yourself as a driver without having to worry about getting in trouble.

As has always been said, autocross is the most fun you can have in a car with your clothes on.

Seat time is seat time is seat time, etc. Do the Novice School. I want to see everyone in this thread's name on the list or a damn good reason for it not to be (and no, not having a good handling car is not a good reason). You want to start competing with your car, learning it is the first step, period.

On a side note, I'm getting seriously close to having labor be the only thing standing between now and having this car where I want it to be for this season.

I'm in OK and I need a tune so not on the list, but if car gets tuned there are auto-x down here starting next week I think.

spaz, maybe you should put in a plug these classes don't turn you into a a great driver that should drive like a moron on the street.

Whathuh? I get what you're trying to say here, but holy fuck that was hard to read. Believe me, I know nobody here takes me seriously, and I don't give a fuck. I may not be the best driver, but at least I can type better than a third grader.

I've done the Novice school back in like 2007 in my brother's car and it's probably one of the funnest automotive events I've ever been too. Right now, I'm contemplating about keeping the Galant so I can actually go to these events with it!
