Everything is really tight down here at work now. They took the extra A330 to DTW last night since the other one can not fly right now. Also today it happened for a 2nd time. Same flight from AMS to DTW the guy locked him self in the bathroom for over a hour. They got to DTW the FBI rushed the plane on the tarmac searched the full plane and all cargo. They did not find anything. It end up to be the guy was mentealy ill.
Now there are new rule on the planes
Can not leave your seat the last 1hr of flight
Can not go into the overhead bag storage
No bags under the seats.
Nothing in your lap.
Getting patted down before you get onto the jetway to get on the plane. All overseas flights
A lot more is now band from bring it on to the plane.
I just flew on the 30th and none of that was done we had had my laptop under the seat, jackets in our laps, never got pat down, and people were using the bathrooms as normal and going into their carry-on's in the overhead.

It's international only. Where did you fly in from?
I'll be heading to Thailand again in April...I imagine I'll have more b.s. to contend with.

The flight I was referring to was from Atlanta to MSP. So that makes sense then if it's only International.

I heard on the news tonight that they will only be doing the pat downs on U.S. bound flights from something like 19 countries.

unfortunatly you cannot be completly secure without strip searches for every passenger. but will that happen, no. We can take measures to try and prevent an attack but unfortunatly no system will be completly effective. We act like terrorist are dumb cave people that dont have brains to see what our security measures are and adapt.
One thing you cannot do is blame Liberals for this. And this seems to be the norm for right media, blame obama for the system failing.... did we forget who was on watch when 9/11 happened... what about the shoe bomber?
regardless people, its up to yourselves to report suspicous activity, so if you see a guy sitting in the security line sweating his balls off tell a fucking security guard so they can give him a better search. Its your job as a US Citizen to help our government stop these people trying to kill our own. and Honestly, if some terrorist is trying to light his shoe or his balls on fire, jump on his ass, dont just stand there saying "well i dont want to be profiling".
Its not Barack Obamas job to personally pat down people at the airport, he must only make policies based on the information he has. And believe me, he doesnt listen to the idiot rush limbaugh.

heres an idea, hand out Glock 18's to 20 random people on every flight. the idea that the wrong move could get you turned into swiss cheese should discourage terroristic activities. it would be less invasive than body scanners too.

I hate to sound mean, but please, STFU about this whole "It's not our fault" BS. I'm so sick of hearing about it...

This is exactly what happened. Someone a couple rows away saw him trying to light himself on fire or something and asked him wtf he was doing, so a guy from 3 rows back and a couple rows over jumped on the guy and beat the fuck out of him. He ended up going to the hospital himself from the chemical burns he got from jumping on the guy.

Yep, the system failed. Kinda like how the current administration can't even keep uninvited guests away from the nightly presidential parties. Tells you a lot about how safe we are as a country these days. Incompetency rules the day and who knows how many close calls it's going to take before we get back to the safety we felt in the Bush years after 9/11.

I don't mean to dime you out, but sometimes what you say is annoying.
One thing you cannot do is blame Liberals for this.
Nobody on here blamed anyone for this as far as I can see.
And this seems to be the norm for right media, blame obama
While I do agree with that, it is not just a one-way street. It goes both ways, are you blind to that? The right blames the left, and the left blames the right. When Bush was in office, the dems tend to blame Bush for a lot. When Obama is in office, vice versa. Regardless of which "side" you're on, it's pretty obvious isn't it? As long as we have a 2 party system, I honestly don't see it getting any better anytime soon.
