Bahaha^^ my 2g isn't upgraded, unlocked for tmobile, been in the lake for a swim, and still works like a top. If that isn't reason enough to buy an iPhone, then idk what is haha.

I currently have the Iphone 3G, Have had it for a year and a half and had the regular Iphone for a year before that. I love the phone. I have only recently have had problems with it. Ever since I did the latest upgrade the phone sucks balls! Locks up every 20 min and dont get calls or texts until I reset the phone and turn it back on to 12 new messages. Besides that I wont buy another phone.

Really, mine is having the same problems since the new update. It will lock up or shut off completely. I will restart it and sometimes it will take 5-15 mins to reboot. And one time all the apps that I added would not open at all, when I'd click on them they would crash until I hooked it up and restored it. But it still has the phone crashing issue.

I have Verizon right now. I hate it.. I had Tmob for like 6 yrs and never had any problems and their plans were cheap. I like the internet on the smart phones but in all honesty if I really need to be geeking out on the internet I will do it on my computer.. so one cell phone company speed to another (which none are actually fast enough to make me happy) isnt a huge deal. I used to have a pda touch screen phone yrs ago.. it had the windows mobile on it and it would always freeze.. I guess they had a problem with not being able to shut down running programs.. I dont really want to deal with that.. There are features I like about both but am still on the fence on which one to get..

I like that someone downloaded the hero thing (which I dont know anything about) but I did see that the hero had some better features than the mytouch which would be cool to be able to get.

If you havent used an iphone much, try it out for awhile before you spend $$ on one. I had mine for 3 months before I absolutely couldnt stand it anymore.

I use blackberry 8900 now and love it. Blackberry > everything.

I have an iPhone and yes AT&T sucks balls, but nothing will ever be able to match the iPhones ability to accessorize, if that's what ur into. And as far as I remember T-Mobile probably won't be any better that AT&T because it is a GSM network as well so if u want service u gotta go old technology and get verizon. Damn I wish America was with the technology times so GSM would be the way to go.

Are you kidding? GSM is fucking awesome in America. ATT and Tmobile have almost completely, if not 100%, replaced all their old systems and towers and bought out contracts from the FCC for GSM networks. ATT has the best 3g coverage, but Tmobiles is only awesome near major metropolitan areas. So I don't know where people think that we need to get with the tech times on GSM. CDMA is an old technology from way back when, and yes it has been greatly improved over the years, but over 80% of the world cell phone networks run on GSM (CDMA pretty much doesn't exist andywhere in Europe, at least it didn't when I lived there 3 years ago.)

The MyTouch is what I'd have to go with, since I have one, and have upgraded from the G1. Nothing is more customizable, period.

And as far as the HTC Hero, you can actually load the ROM from that phone onto the MyTouch or the G1 and get the multi-touch and pinch and squeeze shit too. I loaded it onto my old G1 and my MyTouch and it works awesome. The Hero is just too expensive right now, but it is sweeter.

If I were to get the My touch, which I am leaning more towards how would I go about getting that hero rom??

Look up how to do it on Google, there is a site that has instructions on a forum how to do it. But it is at your own risk since this flashing/hacking stuff can brick your phone with no hope of ever getting it back to a working state.

I have loaded TONS of Hero ROMs on my G1 and it still is no where near the performance of the Hero OS on an actual Hero phone. The OS is just silky smooth and very quick on an actual Hero phone compared to any of the latest builds of the Hero ROM for a G1/MyTouch even with my class 6 sd card with multiple linux swap configurations.

Hopefully one day they will get near the actual performance of a real Hero phone, but not sure if they will get it 100%. It will always be laggy IMO.

Yea I did forget to mention that if you load the Hero ROMS onto the G1 or the MyTouch, the performance isn't as good as it is on the Hero. I think it has to do with the amount of RAM the Hero has compared to the other ones.

No I'm not kidding. Maybe you may have misunderstood what I was meaning by saying that America needs to get with the times, by which I mean they need to get more into GSM and away from CDMA. Also AT&T doesnt have to best 3g coverage, not by along shot. Maybe in major metro areas such as the cities where your from, but offers nothing for the rest of us unlike Verizon which even in the boonies where I'm from has amazing 3g and basically real nation wide cell coverage. Take Fargo for example, an huge amount of people there and no 3g, hell they dont even have AT&T service there, I could be driving around in the heart of the city and not even have one bar. And as far as AT&T 3g goes, if I'm driving 5 miles north of ST. Cloud it disappears completely where any of my friends with Verizon or Sprint (who steals service from all other CDMA towers as part of their plan) will have full services of all kinds.
So in conclusion unless you live in a major city or anywhere else on planet Earth AT&T is a horrible choice, and I regret joining them from day one, but I love the phone. And if you dont believe me you can even go to all the companies websites and check out their coverage viewer maps and zoom in closer to see where actual coverage is available and AT&T's is shitty.
