Yep, pay to play. You can get out of the tickets, that's not hard, all you have to do is say the old bracket broke and bring in pics with the plate attached.
I don't know how they did it on the Eclipses, but the Talons had holes drilled through the underside of the crash bar with a bracket that came from under the bumper up in front of it, like so:

Doesn't put visible holes in anything, comes off in about a minute if you're going to a show or taking photos.

Agreed.
me too. If you're going to knowingly break a law, you din't really have a leg to stand on IMO.
And as far as your comment about all the hard work you have into the car, do you really think a cop would have a reason to give 2 shits about that?

It's a shitty law. And i've had to "fix-it" 3 times in the past 9 years of driving so I finally caved in on this current car. If you're not gonna put it on though, I'd just not-put-it-in-your-window! Cops in Plymouth,Maple Grove and downtown MPLS are the ONLY ones who really care.

Get a Show N Go plate (http://www.amazon.com/Show-Go-License-Plate-Holder/dp/B001E4E0ZW) and only pull it out when you park in a public place. You will have to mount it underneath but at least the holes won't be visible.
I personally don't worry about covering half the FMIC in my X. This is MN so I'll just remove it for track days when I beat on the car.

if you dont want it smack dab in the middle of the bumper, why dont you put it off to the side..................

Get some epoxy - JB weld works - and glue some rare earth magnets like neodymium or something that sounds more rare than that to the back of the plate. Then glue their opposites to the inside of your bumper.
Then you can glue a piece of felt on the magnets on the plate so it doesn't scratch your bumper, but when you put it on, it holds really well. You can find magnets so strong you need a vice to separate them.
Then it's like a D plate, but better.
People who put their plate on the dash are retarded, and probably deserve a ticket. I have probably gone 6+ years with no front plate, and maybe 1 or 2 warnings.

haven't gotten caught yet because my car is a "camry". anyways, i've been pulled over for expired tabs (warning) and they didnt even notice no front LP. lol. anyways, i respect cops for what they do. Like Matt D. says, do the crime, pay the time.
