Doesn't surprise me at all about my car now.

The guy who bought my car changed out the injectors to bigger ones and street tuned the car using DSMlink and WINTER e85. He said he made another 100whp when he dynoed it, compared to when I had it dyno tuned with DSMlink and Holiday 92.

The most amazing part is it was only around 4 lbs more of boost, but I'm assuming a lot more timing...

Edit - BTW I understand that it is a little different comparison, e85 to pump... but honestly 100 more whp??? That is like going from pump to C16 and e85 is only like 105 octane. So I think that says something about the quality of Holidays pump gas, shit.

If/when I switch to e85 in the quest, I am honestly expecting 100 more whp, and if it doesn't happen, I'll be sad, in which case, I'll sell the engine or maybe the whole car, haha. j/k.

E85 is not crazy octane, but it is actually comparable to C16 when it comes to what you can get away with tuning wise on most forced induction cars. It's definately better than your run of the mill 110 octane race gases.

I'm assuming that is because of its crazy cooling properties Shane? I've heard of people not running Intercoolers once they switched to E85.

correct me if I'm wrong but the cooling properties help but I think most of it is the large octane jump from pump to e85 that make the biggest jump in hp cause octane rating is the fuels ability to resist detonating

I <3 BP Ultimate!

must be the INVIGORATE! lol. jk.

It's suprising to see how much the BP93 differs from other Gas stations with 93 octane. The only BP i know that serves the 93 is off Robert Street in West St.Paul.

There's two right by my house and I only used bp ultimate in my dsm.

Most metro area BP's now serve the 93 octane.

I think that the octane jump helping resist detonation is an obvious. That wouldn't explain why E85's tuning properties are similar to C16's tuning properties on forced induction. It is the cooling properties E85 has that allows this I'd assume more than the obvious boost in octane rating.
