View Full Version : BP 93 vs Quik Trip Premium: Real world, dyno proven results!
I had my own experience switching from BP to Holiday gas today. I was running my Colt at about 20psi on BP gas with about 6-7 counts of knock. Got 92 at Holiday and turned the boost down to 18psi. Knock still doubled.
Just as an update to this, I decided to top it off with E85 just to see what would happen. I put in just over a gallon and the result was that it completely eliminated the knock caused by the shitty holiday fuel. I went from 13 to 17 counts of knock yesterday during the heat to 5 to 7 counts last night when it was cool. Today in the middle of the afternoon with a gallon of E85 mixed in knock was 0 to 1.
Now I'm not recommending this, it was just an experiment with my POS Colt. I have no tuning equipment but I'm assuming it runs a bit rich with the factory unhacked 1G MAS.

You should throw in another player: Shell V-Power!
Known crap.

Sweet. Add two gallons next time.
I'm full on converting to E85 as soon as I get off my lazy ass and put a small 16G on the car. It still has the 11b, and with decent gasoline it has no problems at all maxing out the power potential of the miniturbo.

Nice, that's like a stock conquest. Just add a 1G mass and unplug the waste gate and done.

I had an Evo 8 customer running Shell V-Power that was too prone to knock. He switched to BP 91 or 92(might have been back when the BPs only had 91) and we were able to pick up another 15awhp at the same boost level. Which is a decent amount on a 260awhp car.

STFU or GTFO, your choice ;)
Put it in your car and let me know how it goes for ya. I've tried it and the car ran noticeably worse, and many others have experienced the same issue.

hrm, this is rather interesting. I'll have to give BP 93 a try. I'll also have to talk with my BIL, he's in the 're-fueling gas station' business. IIRC, the majority of gas stations all get their fill from the same distributors. I believe there are only 2 or 3 here in MN.

I put some of this magic sauce in my car tonight, and it felt pretty good. I can't tell if it's because I wasn't wearing any shoes, or if it was raining, but it felt faster.
