Damn Cop's!!! $128.00 is ridiculous! My window's were down!!!! Why enforce a damn law you don't understand..... with an answer of ... "because it's on the books...& it's a safety issue" when asked why it's okay for southern states, he then trailed off with a ... "well it get over 100 degrees there" Are cop's in Florida & Texas any more unsafe because of the window tint there! F* Minnesota!!!

I got a tint ticket about a month ago. His reader said 40%, and anyone who has been in my car knows it's not that dark. It's a bunch of BS!

I am still waiting on a tint and front plate ticket for my viper. Neither of which I will correct even if I get a ticket... Suprisingly enough, cops seem to leave me alone. Was trailed once in WI by a trooper and a local cop for 5 miles but that is really it.
How did the cop know about the tint if the windows were down? If I remember correctly, only the front windows matter.

front windows only matter in trucks/suv/whatever else they deal a "cargo" vehicle.
on cars it can only be 50% all the way around.....
I've gotten 2 tickets for my tint.... both by minnetonka's finest!

That sucks dude! Just show them a picture of your car before it had tint, and it will be dropped.

I hate the Minnesota tint laws. Luckily its been many years since I've gotten a tint ticket.
Take a look at the various laws from state to state:

Minnesota is one of the most strict laws. Our neighbors in Wisconsin and Iowa have it better. Heck Montana has awesome rules and they are not a "hot" state.

I got a tint ticket in Maple Grove on Monday, they must be cracking down. My windows were all rolled down at the time too. He pulled me over and told me to roll up my windows so he could check them.

What if you told him your windows didn't work, and they can't roll up. He can't check them? I know Brownman had a similar situation when his windows really didn't work, and he couldn't roll them down and they couldn't check them.
This is the exact reason I went with the lighter tint on my Saab.
