A Is it much different from 8/9's?
I recently had to look this up to configure the data logging software that I'm using at the track. My software just required gear ratios and max speeds at stock limiter.
Final drive: 4.68
Gear 1: 2.85 (43mph)
Gear 2: 1.95 (63mph)
Gear 3: 1.44 (85mph)
Gear 4: 1.09 (112mph)
Gear 5: 0.76 (161mph)

I'm just excited about the longer first gear in the Evo, I hate that every day when I drive my GSX. Evo's just about done. :D

X GSR gearing is the same as IX GSR gearing.

X GSR gearing is the same as IX GSR gearing.
So the stock redline on X's must be 7500?

Indicated redline is 7k just like the DSM/8/9 and I think rev-limit is up around 7,500 just below where the 8/9's is.

Holy short gearing Evo IX GSR.
High rpms at freeway speed is a frequent complaint...you know, from people that actually don't like sports cars.

Yeah I really don't see what the concern is. It's an Evo, not a Corolla. The high-revs aren't hurting the engine any and the gas mileage isn't that bad considering the nature of the car.

Figured I would post my findings for FWD DSM's. The 2g turbo FWD's 1st gear is a tiny bit shorter, but it makes less than 1/10th of a mph of difference.
This is also using stock sized tires on each car.
Speed . . . FWD Turbo DSM. . . . . FWD N/A 1g DSM
55 . . . . . . . . . 2250 . . . . . . . . . . 2375
60 . . . . . . . . . 2500 . . . . . . . . . . 2600
65 . . . . . . . . . 2750 . . . . . . . . . . 2800
70 . . . . . . . . . 2950 . . . . . . . . . . 3000
75 . . . . . . . . . 3200 . . . . . . . . . . 3250

85 . . . . . . . . . 3600. . . . . . . . . . 3675
And for full throttle acceleration considerations, here is a break down of what speed you are going at the top of each gear just before shifting to the next higher gear (assuming shifting at stock redline of 7,000 RPM) and what RPM you enter the next higher gear at.
Gear . . . . FWD Turbo DSM. . . . . . . FWD N/A 1g DSM
