Well, since I started putting parts on my 93TT today, I figured I'd start my thread. I have the front suspention and brakes swapped over. I have the left rear Ksports swapped as well, need to do the upper control arm and brake as well. Other than that, I haven't done a ton to it. It's filled with parts.
A little backround on the car itself. I bought it back in 2006. This was my second 3S, first one that ran. I drove it for a short while, until the water pump locked up. Nothing bad happened to the engine besides some minor over heating. But after seeing the poor state of affairs with the T-belt I pulled the engine for further inspection. Pulling the main girdle off the center two main bearings showed copper.
A build with pistons and all sorts of stuff was started at this point. I collected a lot of parts, but very few ever made it on the car. I also did a lot of work to the car. Everything was pulled out, all sound deadening was removed, all wiring that didn't run the engine or lights was removed, pop up head lights were converted to manual pop up, and I'm sure a few things I've forgotten about. Then my 92TT came up cheap and I started focusing on the driver mod more and the budget and motivation for this car dwindled.
Since the 92 TT is dead, and approaching gone, the 93 will be coming back to life. It's only just though, the 92 "stole" a lot of parts from the 93 when it ran into some major problems. So, that's a fair amount of the story of why I'm building my race car.
Goals for the car:
Initially under 3000lbs, eventually under 3000 lbs with driver.
Power: Mid to upper 400's. Into the 5's if I go for E85.
After that who knows. Make it turn better.
For anyone wondering why it's "Project XP Stealth", here's why. XP is an autocross class for cars. It stands for X Prepared, and is the fastest Prepared class there is. It has a TON of allowances for modifications in the rules, which also means to be competitive, you NEED to take advantage of every allowance in the rules, because someone else will, and beat you because of it. Due to some of the mods already done without consideration for the rules, this is the class that my car will fit into. I could attempt to undo the mods, but there are potential problems with that. And I was half considering running this car in this class anyways, so why not?
I only have to beat Miata's and BWM's any ways, should be no problem for an oversized Mitsu right? :spin: :drive1:
