I would like to thank John for coming by also. He is a great guy to have car problems with.

maybe it's time i bite the bullet and ditch these 2.7l dodge intrepid coils and get that 300m buschnuts setup..arg.

How can a good ignition company such as MSD suck for dsm's? I don't get it.

Just mount the stock coilpack under the manifold where the AC compressor used to be and it will look just as clean. I don't understand the need for COP.

Congrats on making lots of power though.

cop is way cleaner, and I know if it's set up right IS BETTER. And, I can't do that..alt is back there.

Who cares, are you planning to win shows?? Might want to fix the paint issue on the outside first.. thats a bigger issue over a couple wires exposed.

MSD is not a good ignition company. They are the WORST. The DIS boxes fail constantly on every kind of car. The circle track guys will wire in 2 6ALs in case one fails during a race.

hmm...crap. What do you suggest shane, as I did try a STOCK setup last year. What is this other box you speak of?

The COP systems you usually see on DSMs are cheap junk is the problem. You need good coils and a real CDI behind it like an M&W box. And why do COP if it's still going to run wasted spark. Every DSM COP setup I have had here at the shop has had very sketchy wires running to the coils also. Look at Curt Brown's last adventure to th dyno with a COP on the car.

What about the spark tech kit? I know that the evo's have alot more of a problem with spark issues with the stock ignition and aem. And I know that spark tech cdi kits are very expensive, but thats just part of making good power. Im about to test out the hks dli box cause I have pretty much the same problem on my evo right now but only at 451 on a mustang. Hopfully you can figure out your issue, Heres a link for the sparktech ignition.

Those Sparktech setups are nice on the Evos, they use an M&W box.

craig had nothing but problems with is talon with the dis box and brand new cop coils he got from work. the box did not work right and just went out one day. so we put the stock coils back on and got a set of taylor 10.4 wires for it. That fixed his problem he was have it was the same thing that your car is doing.

I would ditch the msd, cop, aem. and go with wires and oem coil and dsmlink
