View Full Version : what to do with my engine?
I am with brandon, if you have the head apart anyway (valves out) then go ahead and get a port job and bigger valves, but if the head is in good shape just leave it. The head flows great the way it is and you won't see that much for gains.

That's actually a decent mod list you have going.
Although I still do not think you need to spend money on a MAP Stg 2 head. This is just my opinion. If I was in your shoes, all I would do is get a very mild port done (basically clean up any casting imperfections), and get some basic spring upgrades like Crowers. Anything more then that, I personally think it's money spent better elsewhere. For you, I see you don't have a wideband on your list. I also see you're on an ACT 2100, which I forsee you running into issues with at that power level. You're considering E85 but still on 680 injectors. That, and possible fuel pump upgrade, are both things you need to take into consideration if going to E85. All of those things I would definately consider money better spent IMO.
But looks like you're going to have a fairly solid setup, good luck with it!
I am up grading my clutch and fly wheel and as you might see above mike is gonna sell his injectors to me for when I go e85... I do need to get a wideband and that is in the works too.. This will be done right.
All that I want besides all that I am getting is a afpr...

Glad to hear your getting some of that other stuff taken care of.
Although my opinion is still the same. You're spending a lot of money on a part that you don't need, and IMO won't yield very significant gains. But it's your money and your car. Good luck with it man. Should be a beast once it's done!

I personally would just gotten a known good 2g head, or even a fresh one, do the headgasket yourself, and done. Whats that like less than $500, and an engine thats capable of over 400awhp.
