...and I was wondering if anyone has the facilities available to help me out for a day and swap a new one in. I went to WyoTech, so I know what I'm doing, but I've never done an engine swap or anything that extreme before and would need help; plus I don't have the tools or anything I'd need to accomplish this task. I would be willing to pay someone at least $300-$400 for helping me for a day. If that's not reasonable, shoot me what you would think would be sufficient. I'm sure it would take a day. I'm lining up a new engine as I type this.
Any help is super appreciated! Beer will be supplied as well, all day, and you can take home what isn't consumed throughout the day, lol.
Let me know what any of you can do.
And for those wondering what happened, my car magically ran out of oil one day, I dunno how, but it did, and now it's knocking like no ones business. So the engine = teh trashed.
Thanks

Might want to tell people what type of car it is. I am assuming it is the 626, but many people on here have multiple cars so it would be good to clarify. Sounds like a pretty good deal for someone with a little time and garage space.

yea, it is a 626, 4 cyl, 5 spd. MEGA POWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I'm also planning on doing the clutch/flywheel while the engines out since it'll be easier. I'll know by tomorrow what the game plan on this is.

So I got shit figured out, and I have to save up for a month or 2 for a new engine. So it's gonna be a bit here. But thanks to those of you who pm'd me and I will be getting back to you guys once I am able to get er' done.
And I was also wondering if it's a good idea to hone a block by hand. I've been thinking that rebuilding my engine would be more of a better idea so it'll last longer than an engine that's been treated who knows how.

Hand boring is a problem to get the hatch perfect and keeping the overbore straight.
Plus it is easy to take much off when you factor in the pre-existing wear on the cylinders.

Yea, that's what I figured out after reading all about that last night. I think I'm gonna go JDM and get an engine from Japan! Woot $650 and 30k miles on it!

I'm pretty sure that I've spun a rod bearing and I was wondering if I can just slap stock size internals back into it with a new crankshaft. Or do I still need to have the block rehoned with new internals. I don't know a lot about rebuilding engines.
