Ok, installed the wideband and started 'er up. The thing was pig rich, off the meter. So I leaned out about 8-10 boxes all by 10 "points" and the idle jumped from about 750 to 1300, haha. Guess I need to adjust the throttle plate some.

Anyway, my main concern is the coolant temp sensor. It's a GM unit, the AEM read 207 degrees by the time I shut it off. Is there a calibration that needs to be done? I did the wizard thing where you select what sensors you're using, and it was the only GM one there.

Thermostat is a stock temp unit at 195. Any tips? just let it do it's thing and make sure it doesn't go over 210 or 215? Or get a lower temp stat?

DSMlink FTW!

I could have used mitsu stuff, but why downgrade from conquest parts to dsm parts? ;)

I'd see how hot it actually starts getting, then make sure you don't have any cooling system issues afterwards. You only have a 5v signal going to the temp sensor, right?

Yeha, I might actually be retarded. I haven't driven the car in 2 years, and I think in that time I've forgotten basic car stuff, its possible it's a 210 degree stat, it's a stock replacement one, so could be, I'll look up what stock is.

Anyway, as for the AEM, it turned red at like 160, so it doesn't know where the threshold is for "too hot". I need to change that for sure.

It's a 5 volt signal sent by the AEM, yeah.

just checked, OE spec is supposed to be 192 I believe.

You are probably too lean for the lower cells, I had that problem when I first started with the AEM too. I wasn't able to get the idle down, then I would lean it out and it still wouldn't go down. I actually needed to make it richer.

Double post.

I did the opposite, it was super rich, then I leaned it out and it read 10.5 afr. still really rich, I think more than that is unreasonable. I suppose I could be wrong.

Most car will run around 205-210. GM's cooling fans will turn on at about 221-227 with the guage at 210 on the dash.
