Wow, just wow:
ok, so...
just got done another full BBK
car used to have a modified garrett 30R ish turbo on it... made 385whp/310wtq at 28.5 psi...
at 25.5ish psi it makes 380/300.. this was a shearer mani with 55 lbs min compressor and .82 hotside
we removed the turbo kit and installed a full BBK with JM fab exhaust manifold, Megan o2 housing, and went to a quieter dual resonator exhaust... Perrin intake..
well, here is the comparison...
now at 27psi...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/cbrd/EZELLBBK.jpg
so a little more boost, other turbo was 7 lbs more than the BBK.
+almost 60wtq!!
take a look at 4200 rpm.. the BBK is up 148wtq... at 5200 rpm its still up 60whp
14.5 psi is at 3150 on th BBK, 4300 on the previous....
24psi now by 3660rpm... and 5000 before for 24psi...
Now, this car has a BR head... runnning about 2 degrees more timing than normal...
Full Mod List:
BBK full 1.5 turn on WGA
Megan O2 housing, Megan Downpipe, Megan resonated test pipe, Cobb catback
780 PTE's, Perrin Intake, Vibrant filter (will be changed to perrin so I expect another 5-8whp from that filter change)
BR FMIC, BR IC pipes
255 fuel pump, small battery
Anyway, a little more food for thought..

No diggity. Sadly it'll probably never happen. FP Red is rated much higher though, 57lbs/min vs 47lbs/min. A better comparison would be the green.
Also, it's been said that this turbo was designed to perform well on pump gas, whereas the green and red have been known to really shine at higher boost levels.

That's a monstrous more amount of torque, wow. 1000rpm better spool I guess, makes me want a newer technology turbo.

This thing is putting down some promising numbers out there....stronger than an evo green....but some numbers are on par with FP Red numbers I've seen....very impressive!
Compared to stock IX turbo:

91 oct vs E85:

Stats on this Evo:
2006 Evo 9 GSR
2.75" Tanabe Downpipe
3" Agency Power catback
RRE rally cat (resonated test pipe)
Titek V2 tubular 02 housing
Ported stock exhaust manifold
CBRD BBK Full turbo upgrade (with porting option)
GST open cone air filter
Perrin FMIC
AMS LICP
Cosworth M2 mivec cams
FIC "BlueMax" 1250cc injectors
Denso IKH24 spark plugs (1 heat range colder)
Walboro fuel pump (single)
GM 3 port boost solenoid using ECU-controlled boost
GST Custom flash using Tephra v5.10 for map switching with stock ECU (91 to E85 and back)
Lastly, check out how this turbo eliminates boost taper compared to the stock turbo:

This is more than I've seen the other stock frame turbo upgrade ever hold.
So, is your Evo getting one for Xmas?

These numbers are spot on with some of the numbers the FP RED has been putting down, even on high boost (30psi) and E85. These sure do look tempting....I have some money set aside, just need to save for a while longer :) Maybe spring? Late spring....

Nice choice :D. $695 + shipping (if you have a 9 turbo already) for one bad ass turbo.
