Is it me or is there hardly any difference between the non-MIVEC and MIVEC cars anymore?

I'd imagine that's true before they are tuned. The manufacturers probably care more about fuel economy than getting power out of it.

Early on there there was a clear definition between an 8 and a 9 with similar mods, but now you look at the graphs and power output between the cars listed in this thread and there isn't much difference.

With numbers like these, its hard to want more though.

Blasphemy! I want 500 at MAP. :)

How many lbs/min is a stock 9 turbo then? I thought the bbk full flowed more than that. Kinda scared now to purchase a bbk

Once the turbo is equalized, there is no reason for similarly modded 8's and 9's to make similar power. IX's however, can sometimes make equal power on stock cams, esp if its E85. Mivec mostly helps in the spool-up area, with cams like 4R's helping improve spool almost 500rpm over a non-mivec evo8.

IX turbo is like 43-44lbs/min, and the BBK is rated at 47lbs/min, but flows more like 54lbs/min. What's to be scared of? Cost aside, there is huge gains up top for very little compromised down low.

They are doing that on 91 octane. E85 is win.

If your car is in good running order and has a good parts combo, on E85, you'll do it easily on a BBK Full, and if you opt for the BBK-B it'll be more like 440 with ease. You're most of the way there already man.
