I hate my prosport gauge. The sender crapped out after only 2 months of use. It also pegged out at anything above 4000 rpm. Also, it did the same thing as your's at idle where it would just drop to 0
They had issues with some of the senders, now mine is always pegged, but I was told to mail Prosport the bad sender and they'll send you a replacement for free. Too bad that involves a week of downtime.

Or you could just cap off the oil filter housing and run without an oil pressure gauge.

True, I do have a 1/4 npt plug I can use to block it temporarily.

Mine is now constantly pegged as well, so I'll have to look into that.
