they are not to hard to rebuild I did the spyder tranny when it was a auto

i have no clue how to rebuild a tranny. would i like to learn? of course! but this is way beyond my knowledge, and im ok with admitting that.

cant i just wrap my entire trans in CF and call it a day? /ricer pete ;) ;) ;)

It could be something as simple as shot solenoids or a valve body issue, but you never know until you take it out, it's actually pretty damn hard to diagnose unless you remove it. Sure, there are things you can do to almost 100% diagnose it with it still in the car, but you just never know.

Try driving it with manual gears. If it goes into each gear without and fuss and holds, then you probably need a new band or a clutch pack, which would point to a rebuild. It sucks you can't just replace a band or a clutch pack, but the old fluid would destroy new parts.

How do you drive it? If It's been driven hard I'd say it needs an overhaul at 144k. Usually an overhaul kit is under $400-$500, not bad there. Now you gotta find someone to do it that has the tools.
