I just bought a 01 Sierra and I love it. 5.3l Z71 I drove it to your house to drop off the clutch.. I have had a car trailor for years now and never a truck. I towed our S185 bobcat with no problem other than it's alot of weight. It worked its ass off but it did it all the way to Virgina MN and back to Hugo no problems cruise set like it ain't no thang.. I've tow my DSM and my dads Mustang with it still being able to enter the freeway at 70 so no shortage of power. I'm bias cause I grew up GM. I've put many miles on a 1500 new RAM and liked it driving cause you feel big and it drives like a car. But the Hemi just didn't have the pulling power. Dodge feels alot bigger than it really is. Ford's are nice if you get 04 or newer otherwise you have to deal with a realy ghey interior and whimpy suspention. I just test drove all of the brands, American anyways and found I still like GM the best. Get a 1/2 ton and a light trailor and you'll love it daily and towing. Really anything new is good it's your choice just my 2 cents.

In Dec. I bought a late 99 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke ext.cab with 80,000 miles not even broke in. Since then I've put on a 8'6ft western v-plow and have had no issue pushing the white gold out of the way. Also I've hauled a tripple axel 34ft trailer with 2 Case skidloaders with 77 inch snowbuckets that was the most weight I've hauled. But I also hauled my Gst too storage, and that was like pulling nothing at all. I've done a few mods to the Powerstroke such as Rancho RS 9000 5 way adjustable shocks, cold air intake, wastegate mod, zoodad mod, 4 inch dp and a 5in diamond dog exhaust. So It boils down to what you need it for and how much your willing to spend, the powerstroke set me back $16,000 and some change and another 5 large for plow and mods. I was looking at gas trucks but for the long run with proper maintence the diesel will last longer.

Thanks you guys i do appreciate it, i mean towing the DSM is when it breaks down kinda deal cause i hate trailer queens and i love driving.
I guess my main concern would be gas mileage for daily use and just the ability to tow stuff should be there.
I like the newer ford stuff, but i am a little biased to GM also. For the price range i am looking at i think that i will end up with a older chevy.
