That makes absolutely no sense. The 4b11 is a square engine, so it is built to rev. That is the whole point of the shorter stroke.

You see those rods!!! Look at the difference in diameter, you'll spin a bearing from starving those rod bearings of oil. yeah it may rev, but do you like your engine. Just like any engine, sure it will rev high, but will it LAST!

2.0 dsms and evos w/ 4G63's consistantly rev very high, 8k stock motor and 10k on built motors. I would go higher with my evo but the stock rod bolts tend to stretch at high rpm/torque. My power peaks around 7k anyways, so no need to go much past 7600 (stock rev limit).

Stock rev limit is 7840 on the IX's according to all the ROM's I have.

It is 7600 in a stock IX rom.

Thats really strange. I thought it was too (and know it is on some) but a few days ago I was thinking about this and check a few stock rom's that I have gotten from other local IX's and they were at 7800 I think. Who knows, I am probably nuts, but I will check again tonight.

I just had someone check their STOCK Evo IX ROM and the rev limiter is at 7804.

I have stock IX roms that I have pulled out of cars and they say 7606.

I smell conspiracy!

I smell conspiracy!

No doubt this is strange, I verified 7804 on 3 stock IX ROM's (2 GSR, 1 MR).

Could you please elaborate? you think larger diameter (rod bearings I'm assuming, you didn't say) = less durability?
