The dlink one will do fine, just set it to access point mode, configure the encryption key and write it down and have at it.
Sounds fun, for xBox live I just push this little power button and play. ;)

Hah! That's right!
Well, the Walmart nearest me (60+ miles) didn't have the WAP so I'm going to get a wireless router and try that. So I'll probably need some help too! J/K I'll go back and read. But I look forward to playing online tonight.

What is it... like $7-10 a month to play on a network that's nice and simple. With the amount of free downloads I get from xbox live for the new games to try it's well worth it.

we could go on and on about what is better. Who fucking cares. I have had Playstation since day one so I like playstations(I own 1,2 and 3).
Sorry im a newb when it comes to wireless/internet connections...
How do you change the encryption method?

If I go under "status" and "wireless" It says " Encryption Function: Disabled"

If you go into the "Network Settings" you can either choose an automatic or custom configuration. I believe either option will allow you to change the encryption method. But, in case the auto does not, the custom definitely will.
And AJ, for the record, you dont need to go through all this hassle on the PS3 either. I merely plugged mine into my router via ethernet and BAM, online.
