Yesterday I 'waited in line' for 3 hours for two bottles of Surly Darkness. For those that don't know, Surly Brewing Company is one of the most top-rated microbreweries in america right now and it's located only a few blocks from my house!
They only sold 480 bottles, two per person. Now, by waiting in line, I mean I showed up at 11 for the release at 2pm. Upon arriving, I was carded and given a bracelet with *FIVE* little tickets on it. Each one is good for one 'sample'. The sample was a full size beer, fresh from the keg. Their entire brewery was open to run around in, the place is amazing. They had a live band, a hotdog stand, and I hung out with the head brewmaster for about an hour while he showed a few guys their new canning line.
So, each bottle was $15, I was #193 in line. They're selling 6 bottles on ebay for charity, one was up to $130 already.

WCCO was there, it was a huge blast. We will have to go tour their brewery once it's re-done next spring!
