Not to mencion people he was going 70 in a freakin 65!!!!! 5 fuckin miles over the speed limit gets you treated like that. Im going to disregard the no plates bull shit because there is a strong chance he just bought the car.
Uhh, when you buy a car without plates, you get a 21-day temporary tag. I guarantee he didn't get pulled over for speeding, but having no plates is a big no-no. There was more going on than you saw.

The cop was in absolutely no personal danger other than pulling the man out of the car and using a TASER on him which exposed the officer even closer to the traffic that was very close doing 60+mph.
Jet is right, TASERs have killed many people. These things are not to be used in any situation. As a matter of fact they should not be allowed at all. It is the same as playing Russian roulette with someone else's life. Is that okay? "well this guy isn't giving me his ID and registration fast enough... I think I'll risk killing him for not complying fast enough!" Is this okay... honestly? Why do we the people give the cops this authority? Oh that's right.... we don't.
Goatblower, with all due respect, you are completely wrong. Cops deal with assholes just like everyone else in the world. Why should they get special treatment? They don't "put up" with shit, they picked the job. If they were naive enough to think that they were going to be "helping the community" and everything was going to be perfect, they should be the ones getting electrocuted.
Sorry, I don't see it that way. Do you have any statistics to back up your claim of all these needless deaths? The taser was designed to take down a criminal without any physical damage, a heavy shock is a good way to do that. If you think you can talk every person down in any situation, you're fooling yourself. People are on all kinds of drugs, have mental illness problems, etc, etc. There are just going to be times when the person gets what they deserve. Asking cops to do their jobs without any protection for themselves is insane, it's a dangerous job for which they should be respected for.
And I hope you were kidding about a car hitting him. That statement alone ruined any credibility you had in this argument.

Damn man, i didnt even see you in the video. Were you the passenger seat?
I see cars all the time without plates. In california there is a little strip of paper on the front window that makes it legal to drive without plates. Usually there will be a dealer plate on the back that just says the name of the dealer.
Unless the guy had a bat or some form of weapon or made a move against the cop, then the cop was not in any danger whatsoever.

Since 1999, at least 148 people in the United States and Canada have died after encounters with police who shocked them with Tasers. More than half of those deaths occurred in the past year, of which 15 took place in northern and central California.

Do I honestly need to prove this? Have you ever driven in Minnesota? At all? Rhetorical indeed, I know you have. We all know this country is full of idiot drivers. Take these same idiots and put them at 70+mph in vehicles that are well over 2000lbs and bad shit is going to happen. I'm really not sure how this can even be contested? It is in the news, on other TV shows all the time, and it is just kind of common sense. They even made a 'Pull over for emergency vehicle' law in Minnesota. I'm sure you've seen the signs on the freeway... you can get a ticket for not slowing down (I believe 20mph under the limit) or pulling over to the other lane.
There are certainly better ways of ruining peoples lives than using a TASER on them. Just convict them of some ridiculous crime and throw 'em in jail for the rest of their lives! Yay America!
There's my credibility.... let's see yours :)

I watched the Video. Either the guy WAS doing something you can't see or hear to warrant such actions, or the cop was WAAAYYY out of line. Listen to his voice, he goes from "firm" to "completely ticked" in one sentence. And the pause between the two sentences wasn't long enough for the guy in the car to say or do much. Who knows, maybe the cop pulled the car over cause a car matching that description was reported stolen.
Don't take this as me sticking up for the cops actions, just saying there may have been a reason the cop went off as fast as he did. Might have been having a bad day (not an excuse) or might have known something was up (wouldn't he have called for backup before he got them stopped) . Taken at face value, he was way out of line.

Ya, there is a lot that we can't see, so who knows what was really going on in that car. But from this footage alone, it seems the cop got out of hand.

When I bought my car private party in Wisconsin the previous owner kept the plates leaving me to drive home without any license plates. Apparently the plates stay with the owner in that state.
Also, I've had a bracket snap and lost a plate before.
Just thought I'd throw some possibilities in as long as we're doing hypotheticals here....

They have the same deal in Iowa, but I towed my car home so it didn't really matter.
