Whats so confusing? Turbo deisels dont make as high of HP, they make lots of torque.
Interesting design though.

sweet.
Yeah, that would rock! You can do a lot with diesels, just look at the big ass trucks.
310ft-lbs sounds nice.
My old roomate drove a VW diesel with a chip in it. HP was probably around 100, but with the torque it was actually pretty peppy. Plus the 45mpg city was pretty nice too.

Hp= torque x rpm /5252
If you don't rev high, hp numbers won't look impressive. My buddies truck only puts out 250hp, but it puts out 600ft/lbs so it moves alright for a 7000lb vehicle, at least way better than the 250hp would make it seem.

Audi R10, thats all you need to know about "performance" diesels. They have potential in the consumer world. I'm sure we've all seen the vids of the many gigantic pickup diesels running 10's..
I think there would be a huge market for this thing. Making power/tq would be pretty easy, keeping a tranny from shattering will be the hard part. Maybe Shep will have a whole new market to master. Not to mention, it could be tuned to get great mileage at the same time. I'd consider one..

And its easy to convert a diesel to run on used cooking oil or bio diesel, which they say is the future of keeping cars on the road. Now I have a modern car to save up for.
