The great things about DSM is that by the end of 6 months the owner is a full fledge mechanic. Even if the owner never touched a car before. I love my DSM even though it is slow as a Honda.

Going on year 4 with out a DSM. And I still have problems GRAND AM is running but about to fall apart. Festiva has a starting problem. Ugh...fuck cars!

Oh stop bitchin and pull the one sitting on the floor apart and use it as parts for the one in the car. There is your 40 dollars.
There's your two problems right there ;) haha

On topic: my dsm has been fairly reliable (knock on wood) and the few problems it's had have all been pretty easily repaired.

Kevin,
Is your car up and running? If so, what was the cause of your car not starting?

Yeah, it's been running for a while now. The most recent cause is a shitty positive battery terminal. The time it was down 4 or so months ago was a bad fuel pressure regulator.

I really like the info on that jackstransmissions site. I wonder how their rebuilds perform though, as i have not heard any first hand accounts.

when i went to wyotech in wyoming, i joined a colorado dsm club, allot of people on that site say he does great stuff, the guy is also on dsmtalk allot replying to drivetrain question and such, very helpfull guy.

I think he is legit, he has a bunch of pics of his machine work, in my oppinion it all looks of good quality. anyways i'm willing to give him a shot since i dont really want a Shep tranny and i dont want a TRE tranny.

Thanks for the support guys.
Its not worth if for me to just throw a fork in there even though its my only car, the syncros are TOTALLY shot on all the gears and i don't want to have to take it off again for that. I am going to try to find a car to borrow for a couple weeks.
Its the red car haunting you from beyond the grave!
