My car is a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and since Friday I have been having this problem.

The car acts like it's running out of gas @ about 5000 rpms....You give it gas slow it will take it but if you get it on it hard it won't take the gas...

It has been checked for boost leaks, the fuel pump has been checked, and the fuel filter has been changed.

For some reason to no matter what the boost is set on it jumps to 22 and the egts go through the roof like tapping out past 1600

Does anyone know what my problem could be?
Thanks!

Spark Plugs (GAP)? Plug wires.

Does it spitter and sputter when you hit 5000 rpm?

Definately going lean, but you've got to get that boost under control first. Is your wastegate actuator working correctly? WHat are your S-AFC settings?

Boost creep! You are either going to need a ported 2G o2 housing or a nice 2.5" tubular one from a selection of vendors. Just to make sure that it is not your boost controller failing run a hose directly from the turbo-outlet elbow to the wastegate nipple. Be sure to always zip-tie all vacuum lines when installing a boost controller.

They are running a HRC O2 eliminator downpipe. It replaces the O2 housing.

Oops didn't see that part. I would deffinately suspect the boost controller then. Still, try my test.

I have bypassed the boost controler and i have also changed the turbo to one that has been ported and a bigger wastegate installed and also checked the plug gap nothing seems to help.

Sounds like it really needs a good tune.
What do you mean 'wont take the gas'? I see you have a 2g mas, that should kill mas overrun, how old is the fuel pump? How is the fuel pressure regulator doing? (stock, dead, aftermarket?) What fuel pressure are you running (baseline?) So if you put on a ported turbo, and hook up the boost controller lines to the FACTORY bcs, what happens?

swap spark plug wires. I had the same thing happen with my system.

started off not being able to go above 7200rpms and then over the coarse of the next 2 weeks before I swapped them. I couldn't rev past 5800rpms.

I could do it on light boost.. But if I was ever WOT it would buck and sputter. And then when I went to shift and go WOT directly it would just sputter and what not until I let the RPMS drop down to idle and then I could go WOT again.

if you hitting that much boost could it be that the boost controller was hooked up backwards?
