Hmmm. 3.5 inch? I would like to know if there is a "real" difference between 3.0 & 3.5 inch exhaust systems?
a 3.5" pipe has about 27% (26.530612244897952% :wink: ) more surface area than a 3" pipe...

Not that I'm as deep into fluid dynamics as you; but isn't it good to at least have some back pressure on a turbo car?

The turbo provides more than enough back pressure. You want as little as possible after that, it is an NA car that will need some back pressure. And velocity does nothing for the exhaust once it is out of the turbo unless you are trying to shoot it out fast to act like a jet engine and propel the car :P

The less exhaust after the turbo the faster it spools and the more power it makes. The best turbo exhaust is none at all.

Since nobody else asked, what turbo is on the the car that you need more than a 3" exhaust?

You'll have to post some pics up when it's done! Do you plan on running a muffler? I think old man Hill's is all just straight 3.5", maybe a resonator. Pretty loud none the less!
