Last year at Fun Ford Weekend in Dallas some guys were having fuel line issues with a Cobra. After thinking they had fixed the leak they left the Texas Motorplex and went out on the highway to make a couple of quick pulls to check it out. While in the middle of a high speed pull the fuel line spewed fuel all over the engine compartment and the car burst into flames. Before they could get the car stopped the fire had engulfed the car. The driver and the passenger didn't make it.

When dealing with flamable fluids in your car, don't cut corners.

Always, and I mean ALWAYS keep an extinguisher with you. They're ~$10-15 bucks and it could save your car, or your life.

You were lucky, count your blessings.

Oh yeah, you gotz to be a stuuuuupid mother fucker to use rubber hose to feed a turbo.

:)

I think the stock fuel lines would have likely burned and probebly destroyed everything. Luckly i have SS Braided lines that looked to be unharmed.
I and a lot of the people i hang out with used to think it was rice to have a fire extinguisher in the car, pretty much every one of my friends went out and bought one the day after this happened.

yeah i was pretty stupid, it wasnt mainly because i used a rubber hose to to the oil feed line, but more-so that i didnt yank hard on the line to make sure it was secure.

I was going to have my girl friend get in a bikini and pose in front of the car and put the same "This is why im hot" caption, but shes a little shy.

The rubber fuel line is where you went wrong. Whether it was tight enough or not wouldn't have made a difference. Rubber fuel line can't take the heat or pressure it encountered on the turbo oil feed.

Maybe because she's a boy?

That cobra driver in texas should have turned off the car to shut off the fuel pump(s).

Shitty!!!! Sorry to hear, Hopefully not to bad, and you can rebuild her better, stronger, Faster. But to put it in perspetive you convinced me to get a fire extinguisher, cause if that happend to me I would have had a case or two of whats in your hands, and then cry like a girl.
