a friends car..

got quite a bit of work done on it, runing e85 right now.

driving normaly car functions just fine..

as soon as it hits boost it falls flat on the face.. no go anywhere.. just sputters and runs lean....

fuel most likely?

we checked couplers, has 38psi on the fuel preassure gauge when the car is off..

checked fuel pump, its a 255HP and its pretty quiet...

any ideas?

oh yeah i forgot to say it runs lean if it starts building boost...

he has new 1100+cc injectors and new 255hp pump... old FPR.

How is he tuning it?

dsmlink and wideband

if its running lean, its fuel issue pretty much...

fuel pump
injectors
FPR

thats pretty much it right?

fuel pump builds enough pressure and the car drives nicely all around
except when it builds boost.

Turning the screw on the fpr makes preassure go up and down nicely. only went up to 45psi not higher because his screw is also bent so it couldn't tighten it any more.

we removed the boost line off the WG so it was only runing 17-21 psi (on the spring only) with same issue

What's the global set at on link?

Is the vacuum line hooked up to the fuel pressure regulator and is it seeing boost? Might be time for some diagnostic dyno pulls.

yeah, all the vacuum lines are hooked up right.

intake manifold to bov
intake mani to a T one goes to boost gauge the other to FPR
intake mani to a MBC to WG

all lines there and tight.

its completely confusing me what it could be.. and the global setting is correct, the car idles perfectly.

Do you have the global set for E-85 or gasoline. You can send me some Logs I'll take a look( carl_talon@hotmail.com or AIM.) Im getting pretty good at this E-85 stuff.

If you know it's running lean, then that would be the first thing to go after obviouslly. My car was running rich when I first went to E85. I compensated too much, and just like yours, it would flat out sputter and fall on it's face under any sort of boost. The number to aim for on E85 seems to be 12.0-12.5 from what I've gathered. From there, start adding timing instead of leaning it any further. How lean is he?
