I wouldn't run E85 at 12.0-12.5 unless you are really trying to push it to the edge. E85 isn't that consistant of a fuel.

As Carl mentioned, did you set the globals up for gasoline or E85, they would be much different. What are his LTFT and STFTs at? Also, if it is misfiring, that will show as lean on a wideband, because the oxygen doesn't get used up.

What are you tuning cars at? I run mine personally at 12.0, and that is a number that I see a majority of people on the link forums are aiming for as well. If he has a wideband like the original post mentioned, and a functioning knock system, he should be able to monitor if the mixture changes.

Like mentioned before though, what are his deadtime and global settings at?

I've been aiming for 12.0:1. I've gone as high as 12.5:1 without any knock at 21 deg timeing. I watch it pretty close everytime I fill up incase the fuel has changed.

Since now is the leanest time of year for E85, then I can shoot for closer to 12.0:1, but if I tune a car during the other mixtures, then I don't want to be too lean when it goes from 70% to 80+%. And I can't run customers cars right on the edge, because 95% of people don't monitor their stuff like DSM guys do with DSMLink. Most cars also don't have a knock setup as good as DSMs or any at all to save the motor.

Do I get a cookie for being closest to resolving the problem?

I already took the bolt out from top of the FPR since it was bent... engine movement but strut bar stays on the same spot and doesn't give in, he needs to get front / rear engine mounts even tho he is AWD.

I want to take it apart and see what failed in there, all fpr is a big spring inside anyways with chambers

Good to hear you figured it out. Does that mean there's another Blaine DSM running on E85?

no, this is Edina dsm...

Blaine dsm will be running E-85 as soon as I take the engine out, replace bearings and put it back in, right now its just running the dust on it.

but i do gotta say, damn that car MOVES... it sounds like a freaken airplane with that 3065 in there and open WG to the atm.

Nice, i fill up on e85 at the holiday right there off Central all the time. Let me know if you ever need a hand, as I'm only blocks away!
