All you haters it looks sweet. No I know you guys are not hating on it. But ya I agree we have a new engine to play with. They retired are 4g power plant.

It's a mixed bag look-wise. The front and rear and deliberately mean and kind of chunky. The sides and roof line are nice and smooth. I feel like they should have gone one way or the other with the looks. If it was me, I'd yank the wing and put on a more subdued front bumper and hood. It could look really classy.

And Kracka's right on the hood. It should be extended all the way to the front. The molding to fill the last couple inches looks tacky.

Hey. yeah, you're right. Fancy me liking the looks of a lancer. It's about time, because I thought the old one was too plain jane.

Yeah the old ones looked plain jane but now they tried to make it into a car you'd see P Diddy getting drove around in WTF

Correct me if I am wrong: This is the worst looking evo ever, it has the least flexible motor, and is going to be (optional)automatic.

I don't know, but from day 1, the evo 10 seemed to be a failure.

The Evolution III seems to be the best of the breed in my mind....

The optional transmission is hardly an automatic, its similar, but better, than VW's DSG. Who knows about the engine, to go in an EVO it will have to be strong considering it will more than likely be running 20+ pounds of boost from the factory.

I agree with Chris. Here is a quote from Wikipeda: The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will feature a completely redesigned chassis and computer system. It will have a brand-new engine, the 4B11T; a 2.0L turbocharged aluminum I-4, and a new all-wheel-drive system that will control braking, throttle input, and real-time suspension adjustment (all together called S-AWC, or Super All Wheel control) simultaneously with the Active Center Differential. The S-AWC uses torque vectoring to send different amount of torque to any wheel at any given time. It will also feature a sequential semi-automatic six speed double-clutch transmission with steering-mounted magnesium alloy shift paddles. A 5-speed manual gearbox will also be available.

That right there says the car wont suck. Granted new engine basicly a new Evo. I am happy with this car. I am also happy with Mitsu taking the risk in redesigning a legend. I hope this car lives up to its name. The changes they did from the prototype to this. Is small I did not care for the bigger nose. I like the more streamline look. And it kinda looks like a small Galant still. Well the 8th Gen Galant that is.... Be happy its still Turbocharged! :)

If what I've heard of the DSG is true, I can only imagine that driving an Evo with a "race" bred version would be anything short of a blast. It's not like Mitsubishi builds junk engines. The X is a technological monster, but they've had plenty of time to make the X fit the Evo mold.

Yeah, the Evo X is a twin disk manual that is shifted via computer. It has the paddle shifters and everything on the wheel. Everyone raves about the Ferrari 360 F1, so I don't know why it is an issue with the Evo.

How do you know the new engine is less flexible? Hasn't the power band been getting broader with the later Evo's? This one will have MiVec on both cams, a shorter stroke engine (more potential to rev) and a newly designed engine. The 4g63 is a great engine, but I am sure there are improvements that could be made from the old design.

Personally I love the looks of it, I have since I first saw it. It looks like a more upscale car, not the boy racer look of the 8/9. S-AWC should be sweet too. I already have my name down at Brookdale for the first one :D
