Well I finally did a boost leak test and I found I had a pretty major boost leak where my throttle body connects with my intake manifold. So I got some new gaskets and went to town. After the gaskets were in and everything was cranked down I did another boost leak test just to make sure. Sure enough, there is that very same big leak in that very same spot. I was planning on taking it apart again and putting a layer of RTV on the throttle body, but I thought I would get some other opinions first. And if I do use RTV, should I wait for it to dry on the throttle body and then clamp it down? Or should I just slap some on there and crank away? I don't like boost leaks :(

If you do use RTV, torque it down right after applying it then let it cure for 24 hours before starting your car.

A new mitsubishi gasket does not leak when properly installed, I would double check the installation/other options....there are alot of places where it can leak on the throttle body, spray with soapy water to see for sure

Actually, I fixed the gasket and RTVed it and she still leaks a little. Conclusion we came to at db is that the throttle body shaft is leaking a little. After throwing the car on the dyno and laughing at my numbers we knew there had to have been a boost leak or exhaust leak somewhere. All the ic pipes are good and there are no obvious exhaust leaks that you can hear. Shane thought it might be the hks wg. I took it apart and found a bolt that had come off, but after replacing that it doesn't seem that like was the culprit. I am planning on taking the wg apart a little more than I did last night later today. If you have any advice as to why my turbo hits 10psi at 5400 and 20 psi at 7400 lmk :)

p.s I told you guys I had more lag than I should!

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/mrbrianf20/IMG_0008.jpgThat's what the wg looked like when I took it apart. Shane made a good point that the spring would hold that piece down, so the fact that the bolt came off isn't that big of a deal.

Also, anybody know if hks has any warranties on their stuff or if I have a chance at getting $500 wg replaced?

Thanks for the advice on getting a tial. I am going to see if I can fix the wg first because they aren't really that technical. Why do I need help working on my car? Or are you saying you like my car so much you want to come help me? I'm pretty sure I haven't done anything wrong and if I did, I went back and fixed it. Come on aaron, it's not like I broke to center diffs in one night! haha, but yea you should have my number so call me up if you wanna come over and help me work on my car. :drive1:

Looks like you need help on more than just your car.
two is spelt with a W.
And i didn't break TWO center diffs in one night, so before you talk to people who have no idea they are talking about and make YOU look stupid, maybe you should think.
I broke one center diff, but that's cause i know how to drive my car and i make just a little bit of power.
One day you might get one of those two things.
About your car, i don't mind helping you, where do you live?

The HKS wastegate, i know two years ago i couldn't find any parts for it at all, i broke the wastegate diaghrapm and no where sold it.

Good luck on your search.

Looks like you should look in the mirror when you say that. You just happened to have forgot a "WHAT" in there... Maybe you should think before you jump on someone about spelling. Also, "diffs" is spelled "differential" just so you know. Proof reading FTW.

I wasnt aware that breaking shit means you know how to drive your car... But you are correct on the "little bit of power".

He'll have some good power once he gets a good tune. :)
