Congraduations.
Coming from a shop owner, I can not stress enough how important it is to achieve the proper training for the field you want to work in. Good luck!

Thanks, my goal is to graduate at the top of the class, gonna be alot of work but the fact is I love this field and would probably work on/fix cars even if they didnt pay me! I would like to get into PTAP (Porsche Technical Aprenticeship Program) or some other high end graduate program

A fella who graduated a year behind me in high school went to UTI in Chicago, finished the regular program, went through the Ford-specific program, and is now in Colorado at a Ford dealership making more than anyone at Jiffy Lube could ever think of making.

I dont know anyone that has gone through the Wyotech or UTI programs and come out thinking it was money well spent.

When i worked at Toyota in arizona two of the four master techs at our dealership started off as lube techs and just worked up. Now they make about 100k/yr and they didnt have a rediculous tuition to pay off either!

Save your money, read some books, buy decent tools from the start and jump in headfirst.

I think the money spent at dunwoody was a waste. Hell, you can start off lube tch, and work your way up in the shops I shot up, before I was even hired here at honda!
