If he refunded you the money, I don't see the problem. If he took your money and still sold it to someone else, then you would have something to be upset about.

Technically he should have ended the auction after he received payment from you.

And yes, you would be tried as an adult but that doesn't necessarily mean that you should have all the rights of an adult. Even some people that are 19-21, and even older in some circumstances, still do not understand that they are accountable for their own actions. Until you reach 18 you are your parents responsibilty unless you declare emancipation from them. Therefore, anything that you do, they are liable for you (financially at least and most of the time legally). Alot of younger people don't take into account the true consequences for their actions. They make decisions based on emotion rather than reason. I speak this from experience because I will be the first to tell you, I was absolutely no angel growing up. I was lucky enough not to get caught. Doing things on the internet leaves an electronic trail that can be traced back to at least your parents, if not you.

I will step off my soapbox now. I will prepare my flame proof suit for more action. ;)

thanks for the advice, i can agree with the emotion thing. I try not to get into to much trouble.


Do you know if its okay for a minor to have a paypal account? I have my own checking account i don't see why paypal would be much different.

Not sure about that. I'm sure they have some stipulations. You might want to check into it just in case.
