90% of the DSM'ers have the Toonerz mentality of believing that everything on eBay and billybuttfuckintercoolers.com is God's gift to the forced induction world. Like Swanny said, it's not worth a company to invest money into.
Exactly, 95% of DSMers are not willing to pay for a quality product. They want the cheapest that that will "work" made by some guy in his mom's garage. Companies are much wiser to invest those R&D dollars into higher level cars.

And we are :).

Not saying we don't invest time into dsm's. We've invested hundreds of hours of research and development into the dsm's. Minus a few specialized, yet to be announced area's, we are pretty much done with R&D on that platform.
Now Evo's, WRX's, 350z's, C6 vettes, thats a different story.

Wow Jakey, that man really did his research and it definitely shows in his design. I wonder how come the other big competitors arent taking after his examples? I am sure it costs more but if the product is that much better it could easily be gained back.

BTW, what do Iowans know;)

Ya want to do my stress/strain homework for me?

Sandcasting and investment casting isn't that expensive and is actually a much cheaper solution compared to forming endtanks for production items.
If we came up with a manifold kit for a platform we'd end up having it cast.

Yes, but making it out of welded sheet alum is probably the cheapest yet, it shows in the cheap kits that are out there.

I have seen a endtanks that were formed out of sheet aluminum into a shape similar to the DV/DT endtanks but, even thought I'm far from an expert fabricator, I think it would be damn hard to match the continuity that a cast piece can provide.

Cheap for 1 or 2, but when you start mass producing something that has curves....
Yeah sandcasting is the way to go.

its too bad Albert got a real engineering job and stopped doing his side stuff. He actually works at Tial now i believe. :)

Yep, I've been looking around and I still think I'm gonna go with the Extreme PSI race kit. Is there really that much difference in "cooling ability" between the "race" and "street" core?

61mm and up, race core.

Below that, a street core should be alright.

Nope, check out his website.
Updates:

Keep your pants on, there is currently a delay in the intercooler production, but that will change in the next few months.
